The 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA gets two new all-wheel-drive versions - EQA 300 4Matic and EQA 350 4Matic – delivering extra power, more drive range, and better traction.

However, Australia will receive only the more powerful EQA 350 4Matic variant, which will land here in fall 2021.

EQA

This all-wheel-drive model boasts two motors that get juice from a 66.5kWh lithium-ion battery creating 215kW and 520Nm. It is 75kW more than the EQA 250, due here by June.

The company says the 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA can zoom to 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.0 seconds. The driving range on Europe’s WLTP cycle is 432km and 493km on NEDC.

As available for the EQA 250, the new variant’s battery can recharge itself from 10 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes on a 100kW DC charger.

Talking about the EQA 300 4Matic, it comes with the same 66.5kWh battery pack and 100kW DC charging support. However, the battery generates lesser power at 168kW and 390Nm. The 0-100km/h time stands at 7.7 seconds, while the WLTP driving range falls to 426km.

For Germany, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQS 300 and 350 start at €53,538 (AU$83,200) and €56,216 (AU$87,400), excluding subsidies. The 250 is available at €47,541 (AU$73,900).

In Australia, the EQA 250 will start from $76,800 before on-road expenses, while the EQA 350 4Matic may cost more than $90,000.

EQA

The entry-level EQA for Australia comes equipped with dual 10.25-inch interior screens with smartphone mirroring and satellite navigation, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and the optional AMG Line sports exterior package.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA 350 4Matic will arrive at dealerships before the end of this year. Stay tuned for updates!
